Burned, Bound, Bestowed

Burned/bound/opened was part of a group exhibition in the Salt Lake Public Library titled Do Not Read This. The work was framed and held in actual newspaper carousels. The first had the actual footage of the book burning that occurred in German during WWII continuously playing, the second was all of the books that have been censored in America at some point, the last was a gift of an actual book that was wrapped in gold referencing gold bars. The audience could open the last carousel and take a book home. When they unwrapped the book there was a thin paper wrapped around the book with a stamp that said Knowledge is Power.
